Founder, OCryptoCanada | Crypto Trader Since 2016 | Vancouver Area, BC

Oleg Galeev has been trading crypto in Canada since 2016. He got his start on platforms like Coinbase and Kraken, ran into the same frustrations most Canadian traders hit — high fees, limited coin access, murky regulation — and just kept going deeper. Over the years he’s personally used and tested over 60 exchanges and more than 30 hardware wallets, which is either dedication or a problem, depending on who you ask.
In 2020 he launched OCryptoCanada to put that experience to use. The idea was simple: build the resource he wished existed when he was starting out — something written specifically for Canadians, by someone who actually trades here and understands the regulatory and tax reality on the ground.
Beyond the website, Oleg runs the OCryptoCanada YouTube channel (7,000+ subscribers), manages r/OCryptoCanada and over 10 other subreddits, and teaches a Crypto Trading for Beginners course built for the Canadian market. His commentary on Canadian crypto regulation has been featured in the Toronto Sun.
He’s based in the Vancouver area and has been doing SEO and online publishing work since around 2015, which is the other half of how OCryptoCanada actually gets found and read.
Oleg’s contributions to the crypto industry have not gone unnoticed. His writing has been featured in popular Canadian media sources such as Toronto Sun, where he shares his professional opinion on the latest updates and regulations in the Canadian crypto space.
