The Ledger Flex is the familiar, Canadian-stocked E Ink wallet with closed firmware; the OneKey Pro is a pricier, open-source device with a big touchscreen and fingerprint unlock. The honest difference: you trade Ledger's track record and retail reach for OneKey's open code.

Ledger Flex: Your coins are recorded on the blockchain, not stored inside the device. Recovery depends on the backup: 24-word Secret Recovery Phrase; Ledger Recovery Key (NFC) now included with the Flex; optional paid Ledger Recover (Coincover), availability depends on country of ID document. OneKey Pro: Your coins are recorded on the blockchain, not stored inside the device. Recovery depends on the backup: 24-word recovery phrase with optional passphrase; hidden wallet via secondary PIN. Keep that backup offline and never type it into a website or app. 1 security issue is on record for the maker, the latest on 2023-02-14 (CVE-2023-25758 physical man-in-the-middle on Mini and Touch).

Which Is More Secure, Ledger Or OneKey?
The big structural gap is openness. OneKey says the firmware and apps of the OneKey Pro are open source and reproducible on GitHub, with independent audits including SlowMist, and it packs four EAL 6+ secure elements. Ledger's Flex has a single ST33K1M5 secure element (EAL6+), and Ledger does not claim fully open-source firmware on its pages. If code you can inspect matters to you, OneKey wins that line outright.
Ledger has a longer public record, which cuts both ways. That record includes a 2020 customer database leak (about 1 million email addresses, and name, address and phone for roughly 272,000 customers; no funds or seeds), the 2023 Ledger Recover controversy, a December 2023 Connect Kit supply-chain attack on dApp users, and Security Bulletins 023 to 025 on August 27, 2026 about signing-review bypasses with a malicious host. Ledger says it has no evidence of exploitation against users (Ledger Donjon bulletin 023). So have Ledger wallets ever been hacked? none of the incidents I list involved a Ledger device or seed being compromised, but customers were targeted by phishing using leaked data and one software library was abused to drain dApp users.
OneKey's public record is thinner. The one dated entry I found is a 2023 physical man-in-the-middle CVE on the older Mini and Touch, which the vendor says it patched with nobody affected. It is also fair to say a thin record on a newer brand is not proof of a clean one. OneKey's Anzen team co-discovered the Keystone 3 Pro USB flaw in 2026, so they do look for holes in rivals.
Which Is Easier To Use?
The OneKey Pro has a 3.5 inch IPS colour multi-touch screen at 480 x 800, a fingerprint sensor and a camera for QR scanning. You can sign over USB-C, Bluetooth, NFC or fully air-gapped over QR, and it charges on Qi2. The Ledger Flex has a 2.8 inch E Ink touchscreen that is readable in sunlight and sips power, with Bluetooth 5.2, NFC and USB-C, and the polished Ledger Wallet app on iOS, Android and desktop.
OneKey gives you more input options and a bigger screen. Ledger gives you a more established app and an interface a lot of beginners already know from YouTube. Neither is hard.
Which Supports More Coins?
OneKey says 30,000+ coins and tokens across 100+ chains. Ledger says 500+ coins directly in the Ledger Wallet app (Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, XRP and stablecoins) with new ones added regularly, and thousands more through third-party wallets. On paper OneKey is bigger. In practice Ledger's 500+ includes the coins most Canadians hold, and it names XRP in writing. OneKey also lists a Bitcoin-only support feature on the Pro page if you want to narrow it.
Which Costs Less In Canada?
The OneKey Pro is USD 278 and the Ledger Flex is USD 249 or CA$369 on Ledger's Canadian storefront, so OneKey is the pricier of the two. OneKey advertises free shipping and its help centre lists Canada with a 10 day delivery estimate. Ledger ships free and usually within 24 hours, and Canada Computers, Best Buy Canada and Amazon Canada are authorised resellers. If you want the budget end of Ledger, the Nano X is USD 99 and the Nano S Plus USD 69, with the Nano Gen5 at USD 179. OneKey also sells a cheaper Classic 1S, which I cover in its own review.

How Do They Work With Canadian Exchanges?
Both are plain self-custody wallets. On Coinbase use "Sending to myself". On NDAX a withdrawal above CAD 1,000 raises the travel-rule prompt and "Sending to myself" needs nothing extra. Under FINTRAC's rule in force since June 1, 2021, details travel with transfers of CAD 1,000 or more. The CRA says moving crypto between wallets you own is not a disposition, so keep your records for at least six years. See my NDAX review.
Which Should You Choose?
Pick Ledger if you want a brand with Canadian shops, a polished app and an E Ink screen, and you accept closed firmware. Pick OneKey if open, reproducible code, a larger touchscreen and fingerprint unlock matter most. One note on ownership: OneKey says it is backed by Coinbase Ventures and Binance Labs (YZi Labs). That is a fact, not a recommendation of any exchange. Ledger Flex is number 3 and OneKey Pro number 4 in my top 7. Reviews: Ledger Flex, OneKey Pro. More in best crypto wallets in Canada.
OneKey publishes that the OneKey Pro battery (530 mAh) passed UN38.3 transport certification.
Ledger discloses Security Bulletins 023, 024 and 025 on signing-review bypasses.
Ledger discloses Security Bulletin 022 on Monero app key recovery, fixed in app 2.1.4.
