The SecuX V20 is a USD 99 touchscreen wallet that pairs with MetaMask; the Ledger Flex costs far more but has a stronger chip and Canadian stockists. The honest difference: Ledger has more public scrutiny, SecuX has less documented history either way.

Which Is More Secure, SecuX Or Ledger?
On paper, Ledger is a step up on the chip. The SecuX V20 uses an Infineon SLE 97 secure element rated CC EAL5+; the Ledger Flex uses an ST33K1M5 rated EAL6+. SecuX does not state on its product page whether the code is open source (my own earlier review found it closed, which is my finding, not SecuX's claim), and Ledger does not claim fully open firmware either. Both support a passphrase in their feature sets, though Ledger's passphrase line did not appear on the page I fetched, so confirm it in the app. SecuX also lists a hidden wallet, and dynamic PIN entry on its touchscreen.
The incident record is lopsided in a way that needs careful reading. I found no dated, sourced security incident, CVE or audit for SecuX on a primary page. That is absence of evidence, not a clean bill: it could just mean SecuX is smaller and less probed. Ledger has a long public list: a 2020 customer data leak, the 2023 Recover controversy, the December 2023 Connect Kit supply-chain attack, and bulletins 023 to 025 on August 27, 2026. Ledger reports no evidence of exploitation against users in the latest, and none of those involved a seed being extracted from a device (Donjon bulletin 023). So, are Ledger cold wallets safe? Reasonably, with caveats about phishing and dApp signing, and a company that publishes its own bulletins.
Which Is Easier To Use?
The V20 is the more flexible plug-in: Bluetooth 5 BLE and USB-C, a 600 mAh battery, a SecuX web app on desktop and a mobile app, plus WalletConnect 2.0 and a QR-based MetaMask integration. That MetaMask link is the use case. MetaMask keeps your keys in a browser or phone; the downside is that a compromised computer or a fake extension can reach them. Pair it with a hardware wallet and the key stays on the device.
The Flex has a 2.8 inch E Ink touchscreen, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, USB-C, and a Ledger Wallet app on iOS, Android and desktop. It is the simpler, more-trodden path, and it has a 10 hour battery. If you want hand-holding through setup, Ledger's content library is larger.
Which Supports More Coins?
SecuX says 10,000+ coins and tokens (the specs section says 8000+ NFTs, coins and tokens), including NFTs. Ledger says 500+ coins in its own app, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, XRP and stablecoins, plus thousands more through third-party wallets. Ledger names XRP; I did not see XRP named on SecuX's page. SecuX's number is bigger, but the two lists are measured differently.
Which Costs Less In Canada?
SecuX wins on price: the V20 is USD 99 against USD 249 (CA$369 on Ledger's Canadian storefront) for the Flex. SecuX also advertises 10% off for newsletter signups. Shipping is where I hit a wall: SecuX offers international shipping and Canada is not on its excluded list (Turkey, China, Brazil, Russia, Belarus, Ukraine and Vietnam), but it does not name Canada, quotes free shipping over USD 99 in a banner and USD 150 in the shipping text, and says customs fees are the buyer's problem. Ledger has Canada Computers, Best Buy Canada and Amazon Canada as stockists. The CBSA's courier threshold from outside the US and Mexico is CAD 20 duty and tax free.

How Do They Work With Canadian Exchanges?
Both give you ordinary receiving addresses. Kraken pops a Travel Rule prompt on CAD 1,000+ withdrawals to outside wallets and does not allow sending to a third party. Newton needs the address saved in its Address Book first. Under FINTRAC's rule in force since June 1, 2021, platforms carry sender and recipient details at that size. Moving coins between wallets you own is not a taxable disposition per the CRA. My Kraken review has the withdrawal fees.
Which Should You Choose?
Pick Ledger if you want the stronger chip, Canadian shops and the largest support library. Pick SecuX if budget is tight, you use MetaMask daily and you accept less public scrutiny. SecuX V20 is number 6 in my top 7, Ledger Flex number 3. Reviews: SecuX V20 and Ledger Flex. See the best crypto wallets in Canada.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are Ledger Cold Wallets Safe?
The Flex uses an EAL6+ secure element and no seed theft from a Ledger device is on the record I checked. The risks are phishing, fake apps and signing prompts on a hostile computer. Buy from Ledger or an authorised reseller and never type your 24 words anywhere.
What Are The Downsides Of Using MetaMask?
MetaMask is software that keeps keys on a browser or phone, so a compromised device or fake extension can reach them. Pairing it with a hardware wallet such as the SecuX V20 or Ledger keeps the key off that machine.
Is Trezor Or Ledger Better?
I rank the Trezor Safe 7 first and the Ledger Flex third, mainly because Trezor publishes open firmware.
Can I Lose My Crypto On Ledger?
Yes, if you lose the 24-word phrase and the device, or type the phrase into a phishing site. Ledger's optional paid Recover service is not available everywhere, so keep your own backup.
Does SecuX Ship To Canada?
SecuX offers international shipping and Canada is not on its excluded list, but Canada is not named and duties are the buyer's responsibility.
Which Is Cheaper, The SecuX V20 Or The Ledger Flex?
SecuX V20: USD 99. Ledger Flex: USD 249 and CA$369 on the Canadian storefront; free shipping, usually ships within 24 hours.
Do The SecuX V20 And The Ledger Flex Ship To Canada?
SecuX V20: yes: international shipping offered; excluded countries are Turkey, China, Brazil, Russia, Belarus, Ukraine and Vietnam; free shipping over USD 99 banner (USD 150 in shipping text). Ledger Flex: yes: Canadian storefront shows CA$ pricing; authorised Canadian resellers: Canada Computers, Best Buy Canada, Amazon Canada (Triniti Tech also appears on the reseller page).
