How Do You Set Up A SecuX Wallet?

The setup process is the same on both models.

1. Power on. Press and hold the power button for 2 seconds, tap Get Started and pick your language.
2. Create a PIN. Enter a PIN on the dynamic keypad twice. Write it down separately from your recovery phrase.
3. Name your device. Choose a short name that appears when you connect by Bluetooth or USB.
4. Generate your recovery phrase. Choose a new wallet and the device shows your 24-word phrase in batches. Write all 24 words in exact order. On the V20 use the paper sheets, and on the Neo-X use the X-SEED metal kit and engraving pen. Never store it digitally or photograph it.
5. Confirm the phrase. The device asks for specific words to prove you recorded them correctly.
6. Pair with the app. Download the SecuX Wallet app on iOS or Android, turn on Bluetooth, pair and enter the one-time password from the device screen.
7. V20 only: desktop. Open the SecuXess web app in Chrome or Opera, choose USB or Bluetooth and enter the one-time password.
8. Add wallets. Choose the coins you want and generate receive addresses. Always verify the address on the device screen before sharing it.
9. Send. Enter the address, amount and fee, review everything on the device screen and tap Approve on the device.
10. Optional hidden wallet. In Settings, find the Hidden icon and create a second PIN and passphrase, giving you a decoy wallet and a hidden one.
11. Neo-X only: NFTs. Connect to a marketplace in the app's dApps explorer, send NFTs to your address and tap Sync to show an NFT on the device, even on the lock screen.
12. MetaMask. In MetaMask choose Connect Hardware Wallet and pick SecuX.

Are SecuX Wallets Safe?

Both models are very secure on paper. The EAL5+ secure element keeps private keys inside the chip, and transactions are signed internally so only signed data leaves the device. Bluetooth pairing needs a one-time password shown on the screen, tamper-evident packaging tells you if the box was opened, and the dynamic keypad and auto-wipe protect against PIN guessing. I am not aware of any successful remote hack of a SecuX wallet, but the closed-source firmware means you cannot check that for yourself.

The math: If you buy a V20 at USD 99 and add an X-SEED kit at the USD 39 to 69 price SecuX lists, you spend USD 138 to 168. The Neo-X at USD 179 then costs only USD 11 to 41 more and adds NFT display, so the gap shrinks if you want a metal backup. If you do not need NFT display and will not buy a metal backup, the V20 is the cheaper route.

My Personal Opinion On The SecuX V20 And Neo-X

Both SecuX wallets punch above their weight. Large color touchscreens, certified secure elements and a premium build at these prices are hard to find from the bigger brands. At its USD 99 store price, I see the V20 as the best-value touchscreen hardware wallet I have tested for people who want desktop and mobile support. The Neo-X is the one to pick if you collect NFTs and want to show them off, with a metal backup included.

My concerns are the closed-source firmware, which bothers me as a reviewer, since I prefer the transparency of Trezor's approach, and the limited brand recognition, which means smaller community support. For privacy maximalists, skip both and buy Trezor or Coldcard, because open-source firmware is non-negotiable for maximum transparency.
